Settings & account
Open Settings from the cog menu at the top right. Its groups run down the left and only the chosen one shows; the search box finds any setting by its words across every group. These docs write a setting's place as Settings › group › section.
Account
- Licence — your plan and the Google account it belongs to, how long this computer is verified for (online or not), and Computers: each computer on your licence, with Remove to free a place (a limited number of removals a month, shown there). Check licence now checks again straight away, for example after you renew. A licence is for one player on up to two computers; to move to a new one, sign out on the old one from the cog menu and sign in on the new one.
- Phone drills — Send my drills to my phone, the sync status, Send now and Fetch reps now. See Phone drills.
- Leaderboards — Share my trainer results, your Name on the boards, Link Discord, and a Flag and Role (Student or Graduate) beside your name. See Trainer score and Privacy.
- Shared links — every trainer hand you shared with Share link, with a view count per link, and Delete to take a page down. See Shared hands.
Signing in with Google is what the licence and the online features (leaderboards, Arenas, phone drills) use. Your imported hands never leave your computer.
Appearance
- Theme — dark, light or system (the default).
- Colours — a Preset (Megamaster, Colour-blind safe, High contrast and more), a colour per action and per hand class, and Bet colours: By rank at the node (the default: the smallest size amber, each larger a darker red) or Fixed by size (% of pot), where each size band has one colour everywhere. Colours can be exported and imported as a file.
- Cards & table — deck, card face, card back, felt and the table skin (Midnight by default).
- Text size — Compact, Default, Comfortable or Large, everywhere, popouts included.
Table & numbers
- Bet sizes — % of pot, big blinds, or both (the default), wherever one hand's pot is known exactly: the viewer, the trainer's table and the replayer. The Lines map, node trees and Population stay in % of pot, because a bucket like B70 covers many bets of different sizes in bb.
- Heads-up button — what the button is called at a heads-up table: BTN (the default), SB or BTN/SB. Display only.
- Pot shown — the pot Before this street's bets (the default; each bet is shown beside its seat) or Including them. Sizes, EVs and grades are worked out the same either way.
- Action order — aggressive first (the default) or passive first, in every bar, legend and the viewer. The trainer's answer buttons always read fold and check/call on the left.
Training
- Difficulty — the default for new drills and free play (Standard unless you change it; see Difficulty modes).
- Fade stat rows with fewer than N hands.
- The air card on turn and river decisions, and where river air stops (River air: under a % of equity against their range; turn air is by hand class).
- Hands to keep ready and Turns solved per hand (1, 2 or 3; 2 by default). The section shows how much RAM each ready hand and each solved turn uses on your machine. See The trainer.
- Hand strength — where "weak" stops for the Lines tab's weak share and the trainer score's range balance.
- Trainer hotkeys — the keys for the answer buttons, Continue and the rest. Click a key to change it; Backspace leaves it unbound.
Solver & data
- Solver memory — Fastest (the default) or Use less memory. See Solving hands.
- Single-raised stacks — the starting stacks a single-raised pot is compared with the 100bb solves at, 75–150bb by default. The Lines map and the Analyse tab both use it; a hand outside it is left out of Lines and not graded in Analyse. 3-bet and 4-bet pots keep 75–125bb.
- Data folder — how much megamaster stores and where, and a way to move it to another drive (below).
Moving the data folder
By default everything sits on the system drive. Data folder moves the solver trees and library downloads, the copies of imported hand histories, imported preflop sims and the default hand database to a folder you choose. Type a path or click Browse…, then Check: it says how much will move and how much space the new place has, or why it won't accept the folder (a network location, a folder that already holds other files, not enough space). Move and restart copies everything, checks the copy, and restarts megamaster on the new folder; keep it open until then. If the move stops partway, nothing is switched.
The old copy is kept. Once megamaster runs from the new folder, the same section offers Delete old copy…. App settings, your licence and logs stay on the system drive, and so does a database you opened from somewhere else with the database button in the header.
App
- Startup — Start Megamaster when Windows starts, and Open to: Where you left off (the default) or a fixed tab.
- Crash reports — Include diagnostic details when I report a bug sets whether Report a bug ticks the log excerpt by default. It sends nothing by itself.
- Logs for support — Export logs saves a zip of the app's recent logs with screen names, e-mail addresses and your Windows user name replaced, for you to attach to a support post. The app never sends it anywhere itself.
- Usage log — the anonymous usage counts the app can send (feature names, counts and timings, never poker data): read the file, delete it, or switch it off.
Getting help
The cog menu's Report a bug puts together a short report (app version, Windows version, how many hands your database holds, and optionally the end of the log) with a preview of exactly what it contains. Copy it, or open a pre-filled issue; nothing is sent automatically. For anything that stopped working, export your logs from Settings › App › Logs for support and attach the zip.
